Success Story #2: Kerry Schamel

I had to write you to tell you how thankful I am that I took the 12 week class. I had my baby on the 26th but sadly she was breech and was unable to have our planned home birth. However, I did labor to full dilation at home before being transported to the hospital. When the midwife arrived she thought I was only 7 centimeters or so based on how I was acting. She thought that there was no way a first time mother would be so calm and be in full active labor. I took to heart everything I read in your class and I can’t tell you how much it helped. My midwife even sent me an email afterward to tell me that I was amazing through the whole process and she could not believe how prepared I seemed during the labor. Also, because I had to have a C-section I was unable to be there when they tried to administer the Vitamin K and the Hep B shot but because I kept my husband informed he was able to refuse. We did get a lecture from the doctors but I know that we made the best decision because we were so informed. I can’t thank you enough and I am telling everyone about this class. I don’t think I would have been able to handle the labor without it.

I also wanna say a big thanks for your book on acupressure for helping to induce birth. I was towards the end of my pregnany, although I admit only 38 weeks but I was suffering badly & knew I had a healthy & good sized baby that was predicted to be above average birth weight at 40weeks.

I used the pressure points only on my hands & between my shoulders & didn’t really do it that much, just a bit during the day on Sun May 6.
At 11pm that night my waters broke. About half an hour later contractions started & we went to the hospital at 2am. I hadn’t had time to read about the pain help & honestly didn’t expect it to work so I did think ‘why did i do that acupressure’ but after Thomas was born at 12;42pm on May 7 I was so glad I had tried your technique.

I would most definitely do it again & recommend it to anyone 40+ weeks who has had enough.

I’m happy to announce that I have delivered a baby boy on Nov 27, 2006, weighting 6lbs12oz. My due date was on Nov 25, 2006; my doctor was already going to induce my labor on Nov 27, 2006.

I really wanted to go into labor on my own. Being worried of being induced I needed a miracle so I tried everything possible, from the hot baths and long walks still no action.

So I went online to look up some research on how to induce labor. I found your wonderful site and a blessing at that.

I ordered my book on Nov 26, 2006 and started my acupressure point and shared these wonderful tips with my partner. Last time my doctor check my cervix a week ago I was at 3cm. We stood home all day Sunday relaxing and practicing the acupressure points. Laughing of excitement of knowing something was about to happen.

I had my doctor appt on Nov 27, 2006 at 3:00pm. My doctor asked how I’m feeling I said just fine and thinking to myself he’s going to check me and say “no progress, you still remain at 3cm”.

Come to know doctor tells me I’m 6cm and sent me to the hospital. I arrived at 7:00pm and delivered my baby at 9:27pm.

I gave my self a score of 10 points for handling the contraction that felt so minor and my husband for helping me with the wonderful methods we received from your book. It was a blessing, thank you so much.

Just a quick note to THANK-YOU!!! My daughter, who just turned 18 in November, delivered my first grandchild on Christmas Eve. She was supposedly overdue 11 days. We started to use acupressure when she went over – fearing an induction when 2 weeks past her due date. Andrew Ray was born only a few hours after Lauren was admitted to the hospital.
